An Outstanding secondary school in Dunstable is looking to appoint a committed Attendance Officer to join its experienced pastoral team on a full-time, permanent basis from September 2026. You'll play a central role in promoting excellent attendance, identifying patterns of concern and working collaboratively with staff to ensure every student is given the best opportunity to succeed.

The RoleAs Attendance Officer, you'll manage the school's attendance systems while providing proactive support to students and families. Your responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring attendance and punctuality across the school
- Following up on unexplained absences with parents and carers
- Identifying attendance trends and supporting targeted interventions
- Producing regular attendance reports for senior leaders
- Maintaining accurate pupil records using the school's MIS
- Working alongside pastoral and safeguarding teams to support vulnerable students
- Liaising with external agencies where appropriate to improve attendance outcomes
