An Outstanding secondary school in Dunstable is looking to appoint a committed Attendance Officer to join its experienced pastoral team on a full-time, permanent basis from September 2026. The RoleAs Attendance Officer, you'll manage the school's attendance systems while providing proactive support to students and families. Your responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring attendance and punctuality across the school
- Following up on unexplained absences with parents and carers
- Identifying attendance trends and supporting targeted interventions
- Producing regular attendance reports for senior leaders
- Maintaining accurate pupil records using the school's MIS
- Working alongside pastoral and safeguarding teams to support vulnerable students
- Liaising with external agencies where appropriate to improve attendance outcomes
