We are seeking a motivated and well-organised Science Technician to join the Science Department of a successful and oversubscribed secondary school in Berkshire. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for science and strong practical skills to support teaching and learning across Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
The Role
- Preparing equipment, materials and chemicals for practical science lessons
- Setting up and clearing away experiments in accordance with health and safety guidelines
- Maintaining, organising and ordering stock and equipment
- Supporting practical lessons where required
- Ensuring laboratories are safe, clean and compliant with current regulations
- Assisting with risk assessments and safe storage of chemicals
The Ideal Candidate
- Has a background in science (academic or practical)
- Is organised, reliable and able to work independently
- Has good attention to detail and strong health & safety awareness
- Can work effectively as part of a team in a busy school environment
- Previous experience as a Science Technician is desirable, but not essential as training will be provided
