You would be joining a flourishing Art department where creativity, innovation and individual expression are encouraged at every stage of the curriculum. The department is exceptionally well resourced, offering specialist studios, dedicated ceramics facilities, printmaking equipment and digital art technology that allow students to experiment confidently with a wide range of media.
Students are encouraged to develop technical ability alongside creative independence through drawing, painting, sculpture, photography and mixed media projects. The curriculum challenges students to explore historical and contemporary artists while developing their own unique artistic style and critical understanding.
Teachers work closely together to deliver inspiring lessons and organise a variety of enrichment opportunities including gallery visits, artist workshops, exhibitions and whole-school creative events. The department has an excellent record of GCSE and A-Level success and actively supports students who wish to continue studying Art at university.
