A well-regarded 11–18 secondary school in Bath, rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and creative Art Teacher to join their dynamic department from January 2026. This is a full-time, permanent role, offering the chance to teach in a forward-thinking environment where the arts are valued as a vital part of education.

About the Role

The appointed teacher will teach Art & Design across KS3–KS5, developing students’ skills in drawing, painting, printmaking, and digital media. They will help students build confidence in creative self-expression and encourage independent thinking through practical projects, critical evaluation, and visual research. The school is seeking someone who can make lessons engaging and accessible for students of all abilities, fostering curiosity and confidence through imaginative teaching.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons that promote creativity and technical skill.
  • Guide students through GCSE and A-Level coursework, ensuring that assessment criteria are clearly understood.
  • Organise exhibitions and contribute to art displays around the school.
  • Encourage students to take part in external competitions and local community art initiatives.
  • Support cross-curricular work with subjects such as DT, English, and Drama.
  • Provide constructive feedback to help students reflect and improve their artistic practice.
