Art Teacher – High-Achieving Secondary School in Hertfordshire in Stevenage

A high-achieving and well-respected 11–18 secondary school in Hertfordshire is seeking an inspirational Art Teacher to join their thriving Visual Arts Department from January 2026. This is a full-time, permanent position offering the opportunity to teach in one of the county’s most successful and forward-thinking schools. The school has approximately 1,350 pupils, including a Sixth Form of 320, and holds an ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rating. The creative subjects are central to the school’s curriculum, with many students pursuing higher education in Art, Design, Architecture, and Photography.

The appointed teacher will teach Art & Design across KS3–KS5, inspiring students to explore both traditional and contemporary forms of artistic expression. Lessons will encourage experimentation, reflection, and critical analysis, helping pupils to develop technical skill, creative confidence, and cultural awareness. You will play an active role in developing students’ GCSE and A-Level portfolios, guiding them towards success in both assessed coursework and external exhibitions.

Experience and Qualifications:

• QTS/PGCE and degree in Art & Design, Fine Art, or a related discipline
