We are seeking a skilled, compassionate, and committed ARP (Additionally Resourced Provision) Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive school in Merton, starting as soon as possible. The ARP is a specialist provision within a mainstream primary school, designed to support pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Pupils within the provision may present with a range of needs, including autism spectrum conditions, speech and language needs, social and emotional needs, and associated learning difficulties. The provision offers a structured, nurturing, and highly supportive learning environment, while maintaining strong links with mainstream classes. Inclusion, consistency, and personalised learning are central to the ethos of the ARP.
You will work closely with a dedicated team of support staff, SEN professionals, therapists, and senior leaders to deliver tailored provision that supports both academic progress and personal development.
The Role and Its Responsibilities
As an ARP Teacher, you will be responsible for leading teaching and learning within the provision. Your role will be varied, purposeful, and impactful, requiring a balance of structure, flexibility, and empathy. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering personalised learning programmes tailored to pupils’ individual needs
- Teaching small groups and individual pupils using specialist strategies and interventions
- Adapting the National Curriculum to ensure accessibility and engagement

- Using assessment effectively to track progress and inform next steps
- Contributing to EHCP reviews, reports, and professional meetings
- Working closely with teaching assistants to ensure consistent support
