A thriving and progressive secondary school in Oxfordshire is seeking an experienced, proactive, and highly organised Site Manager to lead its dedicated estates and facilities team on a permanent, full-time basis.
Job Overview Working under the direction of the School Business Manager, the Site Manager will take total operational responsibility for the security, maintenance, compliance, and strategic development of the school's buildings and grounds. This is a crucial leadership role ensuring a safe, immaculate, and inspiring environment for students and staff.
Key Responsibilities

Manage and coordinate all routine, preventative, and reactive maintenance across the entire school estate

Lead, mentor, and schedule the on-site caretaking, cleaning, and maintenance support team

Ensure rigorous compliance with all health and safety regulations, statutory testing, fire safety, and COSHH guidelines

Oversee site security protocols, including access control, CCTV networks, automated gates, and out-of-hours call-outs

Manage contractor relationships, oversee capital improvement projects, and supervise major building works on-site

Maintain accurate asset registers, manage facilities-related stock, and monitor the site budget under the guidance of senior leadership

Candidate Requirements

Proven experience managing school sites, large-scale facilities, or corporate property portfolios

Comprehensive hands-on working knowledge of building maintenance, utilities management, and statutory compliance

Strong leadership abilities with experience managing, motivating, and scheduling support staff

Exceptional organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills to deal with contractors, staff, and local authorities
