Head of Boarding and Residential Life (Live-in) Salary: NJC SCP 23–28 (£34,434–£39,152) + £12,312 residential allowance Contract: Full time, permanent Start Date: September 2026 (subject to DBS and checks) About the Role We are seeking an experienced and ambitious leader to head our boarding and residential provision at The Marchant-Holliday School. This is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping a high-quality, trauma-informed residential environment for boys aged 5–14 with SEMH needs. Boarding is central to our ethos—supporting pupils’ independence, wellbeing and personal development through relationships, routines and experiences beyond the classroom. You will lead a dedicated residential team and ensure boarding is safe, nurturing, aspirational and fully integrated with education and therapy. Key Responsibilities * Lead and develop a high-quality 24-hour residential curriculum * Oversee safeguarding, care standards and residential operations * Lead, support and develop the boarding team * Deliver an engaging programme of activities, trips and experiences * Promote independence, wellbeing and preparation for adulthood * Ensure consistent, relational and high-expectation practice Working Pattern Live-in role (Monday–Friday), 37.5 hours: * Mon: 2:00–9:00pm * Tue–Thu: 7:00–9:00am & 2:00–9:00pm * Fri: 7:00–10:30am Residence required Monday–Thursday nights during term time. Overnight support is provided by residential staff and SLT on-call. About You You will have leadership experience in boarding, residential care or youth services, with a strong understanding of SEMH and trauma-informed practice. You are relational, consistent, and able to lead both strategically and operationally. A full UK driving licence is required. Accommodation A self-contained, single-occupancy flat is provided on-site. Meals available in term time. Accommodation is for sole occupancy only.
