We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to join our growing engineering team at Cobra Engineering in Wisbec. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing workshop operations, coordinating teams, and ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, safely, and to a high standard. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced engineering environment, confidently managing multiple priorities while maintaining excellent communication across teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team, including three direct reports
  • Oversee workshop operations, planning, and daily coordination
  • Work closely with the Planning team to ensure effective scheduling
  • Manage the preparation of fabrication and site packs
  • Provide oversight and support to the Design team
  • Ensure quality standards and compliance are consistently met
  • Provide technical guidance to support operations
  • Maintain continuity of Stores support for the workshop
  • Ensure adherence to Health & Safety policies and procedures
  • Monitor delivery schedules and ensure projects meet target deadlines
  • Oversee site and premises upkeep
  • Provide cover for the Planning Manager and Workshop Manager when required
  • Ensure compliance with UKCA / CE marking and welding certification

Skills, Experiences & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a busy engineering or fabrication environment
  • Strong background in workshop management and team leadership
  • Experience working with stainless and mild steel
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Full UK driving licence
