As a Project Engineer, you will act as the crucial link between our customers and project delivery teams, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget. Working closely with our in-house Engineering and Project Management teams, you will coordinate and manage the day-to-day technical, logistical, and commercial aspects of multi-disciplined projects involving Electrical, Mechanical, Process, and Software engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce and manage RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) for site activities.
- Promote safety by ensuring work is planned and executed safely, challenging unsafe practices.
- Support the delivery of process pipework systems (hygienic and non-hygienic), vessels, and multi-disciplinary engineering projects.
- Develop a clear understanding of project requirements, specifications, budgets, and timescales.
- Assist in delivering projects in line with programme schedules and financial targets.
- Participate in project start-up meetings.
- Attend regular project progress and design review meetings.
- Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) from engineering drawings for estimating and procurement purposes.
- Source and procure materials and equipment required for project delivery.
- Conduct site surveys and produce sketches to support design and costing activities.
- Identify opportunities for value engineering and cost reduction.
- Collaborate effectively with Engineering, Manufacturing, Installation teams, and supply chain partners.
- Liaise directly with customers.
- Ensure equipment manufacture and pipework installation activities meet project specifications and quality standards.
- Coordinate subcontractors including electrical, structural, insulation, and specialist contractors.
- Identify, record, and manage project variations and changes.
Skills, Experiences & Qualifications:
- Proven experience working with piping systems and pressure vessels.
- Experience with the justification of compliance against the Supply of Machinery Directive.
- Knowledge of Design Risk Assessment.
- Experience working in hygienic industries (i.e. food, beverage, pharmaceutical).
- Experience using AutoCAD and MS Project or similar.
- Can communicate clearly and concisely with project stakeholders.
- Has the ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&ID’s & PFD’s.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
