We are March, the UK's leading provider of critical engineering services. Our expertise as a multi-disciplinary engineering partner across infrastructure, process and digital services has led to long-term partnerships with leading organisations in everything from food and drink and utilities to high-security industries such as defence, aerospace and nuclear.
We are now looking for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join March as part of the delivery team on the SCP at Sellafield and other projects as they mature. This position will eventually progress to take over from the Principal Project Manager.
As the Mechanical Project Manager, you will have a responsibility to assist the Principal Project Manager and senior engineer in the procurement and delivery of the Mechanical Packages, coordinating with the client, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders to ensure successful delivery. The position will be full-time and mostly site-based as part of the March delivery team with some off-site meetings when required.
- Sub-Project management planning and engineering; labour, materials, cost control and sub-contract resource management
- Produce risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) and other QHSE documentation
- Managing the production of the sub-contractors ITPs and ICLs in conjunction with the QA Managers requirements
- Identifying, assessing, negotiating with and managing suppliers and sub-contractors
- Attending site team meetings and workshops as required, implementing Compensation Events and producing early warnings
- Managing a mechanical site team including Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Supervisors/Construction manager, Supply chain Site Supervisors and site team
- The Quality Manager and team to ensure the resolving and closing out of Snags and Defects
- The Quantity Surveyor, Document Controller, Principal Contractor and other trades
- Communicating and co-ordinating with the Health and Safety manager and the ADT Design team
- The project Planner to ensure accurate planning, forecasting and reporting contract performance
Educated to HNC Level (or equivalent) in a Mechanical/Building Services Engineering discipline - consideration will be given for those with equivalent industry experience. Have experience in using MS Office software. You will also need to hold both a SMSTS and CSCS card. Experience working within a nuclear or highly regulated environment P4 pass & SC clearance (desirable) but not essential. Commutable to Sellafield and our Whitehaven office.
