We’re looking for a Mechanical Estimator to join our growing team in Inverness. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality bids and driving commercial success within a leading engineering business.
Key Responsibilities- Acting as the main point of contact between MARCH and clients throughout the bid process
- Reviewing tender drawings and preparing accurate quantity take-offs
- Issuing enquiries to the supply chain and evaluating returned quotations
- Building detailed cost estimates using estimating software
- Supporting value engineering and innovative bid solutions
- Managing risk in line with commercial policy
- Preparing and presenting bids for internal approval and client submission
- Producing final tender documentation
- Supporting contract reviews, negotiations, and governance processes
- Managing contract terms, warranties, and obligations
- Contributing to commercial strategy and margin improvement
- Mechanical background within construction or engineering (MEP)
- Experience in estimating or strong commercial awareness
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Confident working across teams and influencing stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Full UK driving license
