Overview of a Forklift Truck/Yard Operator

We are currently recruiting for a Forklift Truck/Yard Operator to join a busy and safety-focused team in Bargeddie. This hands-on role is responsible for the safe and efficient loading and unloading of cylinders, segregation and sorting of stock, and preparation of customer delivery loads. You will be required to follow company procedures closely and maintain high standards of health and safety, quality, and housekeeping within the yard.

Responsibilities of a Forklift Truck/Yard Operator

  • Operate forklift trucks to load and unload pallets and vehicles
  • Pick and prepare loads accurately for customer deliveries
  • Sort and segregate cylinders in line with company procedures
  • Maintain yard cleanliness and general housekeeping
  • Ensure safe working practices are always followed
  • Report any operational faults or unsafe conditions immediately
  • Adhere to all legal, company, and environmental health & safety standards
  • Use PPE correctly within operational zones
  • Complete quality documentation accurately and in a timely manner

  • Valid FLT Licence (essential)
  • Proven experience in a similar yard or warehouse environment
