Our client is seeking a proactive and hands-on Premises Assistant to join their team on a temporary basis. This is a key support role responsible for helping to ensure the school premises are safe, secure, compliant and well maintained at all times. Working closely with the Premises Manager and School Business Manager, the successful candidate will play an important part in the day-to-day operational management of the site, contributing to a safe and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.
Temporary role - 15 hours per week
You will need an Enhanced DBS and a 5 year checkable reference history
Key Responsibilities
- Locking/unlocking the site and supporting site security (including occasional out-of-hours call-outs, paid)
- Carrying out routine inspections and supporting statutory H&S compliance
- General maintenance and DIY tasks across the site
- Overseeing contractors and reporting specialist repair needs
- Setting up for school events
- Managing deliveries
- Supporting adverse weather response (e.g. snow/ice clearance)
- Ensuring the site is safe, tidy and operational each day
Key attributes
- Enhanced DBS (Essential)
- Strong practical maintenance/DIY skills
- Good IT skills (Microsoft Office)
- Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities
- Flexible to work occasional evenings/weekends
- IOSH/NEBOSH (desirable)
- School experience
