Our client are seeking a skilled and proactive Electrical Technician to support practical workshops, providing essential technical assistance to lecturers and students and helping to maintain a safe, well-equipped, and high-quality learning environment across our campuses.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong technical ability, excellent organisational skills, and a positive, student-focused approach.

Key Responsibilities

* Prepare and set up workshops and classrooms for practical teaching and demonstrations

* Manage stock levels, ordering materials, tools, and equipment in line with College procedures

* Ensure safe handling, storage, and compliance for hazardous substances, including risk assessments

* Maintain, service, repair, and safety-check tools and equipment, keeping accurate records

* Support lecturers and students during practical sessions

* Identify and report defects, faults, or health and safety concerns promptly

* Act as a positive role model, demonstrating College values and behaviours

* Participate in performance reviews and ongoing professional development

* Undertake additional duties appropriate to the role

Key attributes

Essential:

* Level 2 construction craft qualification

* Level 2 Maths and English

* Relevant industrial experience

* Practical construction workshop experience, including maintenance and repair

* Sound knowledge of health and safety in a workshop environment

* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

* Strong communication skills with students, staff and external contacts

* Positive, flexible and proactive approach with the ability to prioritise workload

Desirable:

* Forklift truck licence or willingness to obtain

* First Aid at Work qualification or willingness to achieve

* Willingness to work flexibly, including occasional evenings or weekends
