Job Description
As Assistant Store Manager, you will combine excellent client service and styling with responsibility for back-office operations. You’ll support the Store Manager in driving sales on the shop floor while also ensuring the store runs smoothly behind the scenes.
This dual role is ideal for someone who enjoys engaging with clients through styling and sales, while also bringing strong organisational skills to back-office and operational responsibilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Client Experience & Sales
- Deliver exceptional styling and personalised service to all clients, building lasting relationships and driving sales.
- Share product knowledge, styling advice, and fit expertise to help clients look and feel their best.
- Support in-store events and client outreach initiatives, representing the brand with confidence and warmth.
- Contribute to achieving store sales targets and KPIs through genuine and proactive selling.
Back Office & Administration
- Maintain reporting, ensuring accuracy across sales, stock, and operational data.
- Manage store documentation including compliance logs, staff training records, and supplier paperwork.
- Assist with supplier invoicing, expense tracking, and general correspondence.
- Provide administrative support to the Store Manager and Owner as required.
Stock & Systems
- Support accurate stock management.
- Keep back-of-house organised and functional, ensuring smooth stock flow to the shop floor.
- Perform system audits and support stocktake activities to maintain 100% accuracy in Lightspeed.
- Monitor product performance and provide feedback to the Store Manager on stock movement.
Operational Support
- Ensure essential supplies are always replenished.
- Report and elevate any operational or maintenance issues promptly.
- Assist with troubleshooting systems, equipment, or supplier-related challenges.
Compliance & Health and Safety
- Act as the store’s Health & Safety Lead, ensuring all policies, risk assessments, and checks are up to date.
- Serve as the First Aid Officer - training will be provided.
- Support fire safety procedures, equipment checks, and emergency preparedness.
- Keep compliance records fully documented.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Experience in retail sales and styling, ideally in a premium or luxury fashion environment.
- Previous experience with retail operations and administration
- Confident using modern point-of-sale and stock systems (Lightspeed experience desirable).
- Excellent organisational skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Able to balance time effectively between client-facing sales and back-office compliance tasks.
