Job Details
We are recruiting for a Stand Builder to join our Mill Services team at our rolling mill, ASR. This is a days role, working Monday-Friday, 6am-2pm.
Responsibilities
- Machine Operation: Operating basic machinery such as lathes and saws.
- Basic Tool Use: Proficiency in using common hand tools (e.g., Allen keys, wrenches, pliers) and power tools (e.g., drills, saws).
- Basic Assembly: Ability to follow instructions to be able to build and re set guiding equipment
- Material Handling: Understanding how to safely handle and transport materials and equipment.
- Equipment Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance tasks such as lubricating, cleaning, and inspecting
- Basic Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving minor technical issues with tools, equipment, or processes.
- Measurement and Calibration: Using basic measuring instruments like rulers, callipers, and micrometres, and understanding how to calibrate simple equipment.
- Safety Compliance: Following basic safety protocols and using personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly.
Person specification
We are looking for passionate individuals that can demonstrate the following attributes:
- Expertise in using hand, pneumatic and air powered tools along with Oxy Acetylene burning equipment with the ability to operate and maintain equipment safely and efficiently.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills, with the capacity to identify issues quickly and implement effective solutions.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials, working at heights, and enduring extended periods of manual labour.
