Overview
Under the supervision of Finance Director, to assist in maintaining financial reporting & controlling functions as well managing finance operations. Provide strategic and financial support to EMEA management in decision-making, ensuring adequate budgeting and expense control, conducting financial analyses and preparing reports for the company and its Headquarters.
Responsibilities
- FINANCIAL REPORTING & CONTROLLING
- Review and publish IFRS management accounts (P&L and Balance Sheet) on a monthly basis.
- In depth review of the monthly package for each MJ EMEA entity including balance sheet reports and follow-up with accountants to adjust any issue.
- Stock Valuation computation & Gross Margin reconciliation.
- In charge of Syrus (SAP BFC) input for month end (and budget).
- Instruct accounting teams on journals to prepare each closing.
- Explanation of variances between budget and actuals on a monthly basis.
- Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for Capital investments, Sales, Stock, Margin, Communication and Selling Expenses.
- P&L reviews and ad hoc analysis with EMEA management team.
- Assist in the preparation of initial & revised financial forecasts and report variances under the supervision of Finance Director.
- Be the back-office liaison for EMEA commercial team alongside the Finance Director.
- Approving (under £5,000) and checking invoices on AP system.
- Prepare and/or supervise payment batch for EU entities on bank website.
- Participation in stock takes (once a year) in UK & Europe, process and/or supervise stock take adjustments in Stock Management system.
- People Management (accounting teams & finance intern).
- Work closely with HQ & stores to ensure internal control policies and procedures are in place.
Profile
Education and experience:
- 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role within Retail business.
- Familiarity with the Fashion industry is a plus.
- Experience in dealing with multiple channels & entity P&L s is a real plus.
- Finance Degree.
Software:
- Advanced Excel, good knowledge of Power Point, Experience with reporting system (SAP BFC) is a real plus.
- Fluency in English. French is a plus.
