Marc Daniels are recruiting for an exciting opportunity to join a global market-leading organisation as a Spanish Management Accountant. This is a varied and rewarding role with responsibility for an important Spanish entity. This position would suit an experienced accountant looking to further develop their technical accounting expertise within an international environment. You will be a key member of the team and will be responsible for some high-level tasks, including monthly reporting, VAT returns preparation and submission, inter-company costs recording and account reconciliations.

Responsibilities:

  • Sales Ledger: Raise monthly customer invoices for ad hoc orders. Resolve internal invoice and payment-related queries. Monitor aged debt alongside the Credit Control team, ensuring payment terms are adhered to.
  • Purchase Ledger: Prepare supplier and employee payments for authorisation. Manage and reconcile company credit card transactions. Monitor aged creditors and escalate issues where necessary. Handle supplier and staff purchase ledger queries. Set up new suppliers within the finance system. Post invoices to the correct job codes and overhead accounts. Process employee expenses in line with company policies and budgets.
  • Banking & Cash Management: Post customer receipts and supplier payments. Perform bank reconciliations. Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts. Prepare and submit Spanish and European VAT returns, including Intrastat reporting where applicable.
  • Inventory & Stock Accounting: Assist with stock movement reconciliations. Support stock valuation processes (full training provided).
  • Month-End & Financial Reporting: Produce daily cash forecasting reports for the corporate finance team. Contribute to weekly cash flow forecasting processes across EMEA. Analyse cash collection performance by entity and collector. Prepare month-end schedules including fixed assets, prepayments and accruals. Assist with management reporting and commentary preparation. Complete monthly intercompany reconciliations. Support external audits and year-end reporting requirements. Assist with ad hoc finance projects and analysis as required.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience within an accounting role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping processes.
  • Previous exposure to European accounting regulations would be advantageous.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish language skills essential.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels of a business.
  • A proactive, flexible and positive approach to work.
  • The ability to work independently, take ownership and consistently meet deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
