We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Head of Finance Operations to lead and transform our Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions. This is a high-impact leadership role at the heart of our finance organisation, focused on driving operational excellence, automation, and scalable growth. This role will play a critical part in modernising our finance operations through process transformation, AI-driven solutions, and robotics, while also supporting the integration of newly acquired businesses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Strategy
- Lead, develop, and inspire a large, multi-functional AP & AR team
- Define and execute a finance operations strategy aligned to business growth and transformation goals
- Build a high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement and accountability
- Transformation & Process Improvement
- Drive end-to-end transformation across AP and AR processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
- Identify and implement best-in-class processes, standardisation, and controls
- Champion a continuous improvement mindset, leveraging Lean / Six Sigma methodologies where appropriate
- Automation, AI & Robotics
- Lead the implementation of automation initiatives, including workflow tools, RPA (Robotic Process Automation), and AI solutions
- Evaluate emerging technologies to enhance transaction processing and decision-making
- Deliver measurable improvements in productivity, cost efficiency, and cycle times
- Acquisition Integration
- Lead financial operations integration for newly acquired businesses
- Harmonise processes, systems, and controls across multiple entities
- Ensure smooth transitions with minimal disruption to business continuity
- Operational Excellence
- Oversee end-to-end AP and AR operations, including invoicing, billing, collections, and payments
- Ensure strong internal controls, compliance, and risk management
- Deliver accurate reporting, KPIs, and insights to senior stakeholders
- Stakeholder Management
- Partner closely with Finance, IT, Procurement, and Commercial teams
- Act as a key advisor to senior leadership on operational efficiency and transformation priorities
About You
- Proven experience in a senior finance operations leadership role (AP/AR focus)
- Strong track record of leading large teams and driving transformation programmes
- Hands-on experience with automation, AI, and RPA implementation
- Experience integrating acquisitions or operating in a high-growth / M&A environment
- Deep understanding of end-to-end finance processes and controls
- Strong change management and stakeholder engagement skills
- Data-driven, commercially minded, and solutions-oriented
