About the Company

We are seeking an experienced Technical Accounting Manager to support a significant accounting standards conversion project for a well-established organisation transitioning to the updated FRS 102 framework to align more closely with IFRS 15 (Revenue Recognition) and IFRS 16 (Leases).

About the Role

This is a hands-on project role requiring a technically strong accountant who can quickly assess accounting impacts, provide practical guidance, and support implementation across the finance function.

Responsibilities

  • Support the transition to the revised FRS 102 accounting standards
  • Assess and document the accounting implications of the new requirements
  • Prepare technical accounting papers, position papers, and accounting policy documentation
  • Analyse revenue recognition arrangements and advise on the application of principles aligned to IFRS 15
  • Review lease accounting arrangements and support implementation of requirements aligned to IFRS 16
  • Assist with financial statement disclosures and transition reporting requirements
  • Liaise with auditors and senior finance stakeholders throughout the project
  • Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to the wider finance team

Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, ICAS or equivalent)

Required Skills

  • Strong technical accounting background gained within practice, advisory, audit, or a complex corporate environment
  • Previous experience of accounting standard implementation, conversion, or remediation projects
  • Excellent understanding of FRS 102
  • Strong working knowledge of IFRS 15 and IFRS 16
  • Ability to interpret technical accounting requirements and apply them in a practical business context
  • Proven track record of delivering projects and working independently with minimal supervision

Preferred Skills

  • Previous involvement in FRS 102 transition projects
  • Big 4 or Top 10 practice background
  • Experience working with external auditors and preparing technical accounting papers
  • Listed, PE-backed, or large group reporting experience
