The Role
- Accounting Operations
- Own and oversee the organisation’s global accounting operations
- Implement modern tools, systems, and training to drive accuracy, automation, and efficiency
- Design, refine, and elevate financial processes to support rapid scaling
- Lead the preparation of consolidated financial statements and management reporting
- Ensure full compliance with IFRS standards
- Manage annual audits and maintain strong relationships with external auditors
- Execute and optimise a sophisticated global tax strategy across multiple jurisdictions
- Oversee transfer pricing, cross‑border structuring, and complex tax planning matters
- Anticipate international regulatory shifts and advise the business on strategic impacts
- Counsel executives on tax implications across new markets, events, and commercial deals
- Audit, Assurance & Governance
- Provide leadership over statutory audits across all global entities
- Strengthen governance and internal control frameworks
- Deliver transparent, high‑quality reporting to the CFO and Audit Committee
- Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence across finance operations
- Ensure compliance with tax, audit, licensing, and regulatory requirements relevant to media, sports, and live events
- Manage financial risk including FX, fiscal exposure, regulatory changes, and contractual risk
- Leadership & Team Development
- Build, mentor, and inspire high‑performing accounting and tax teams
- Foster a culture of accountability, service excellence, and cross‑department collaboration
- Partner with FP&A and operational leaders to deliver best‑in‑class reporting
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Report directly to the CFO with regular Audit Committee and investor engagement
- Build trusted relationships with auditors, advisors, and banking partners
- Align financial reporting with investor expectations and industry best practice
Candidate Requirements
- Proven senior leadership experience in accounting/finance within a global or high‑growth environment
- Experience in sports, media, entertainment, or large‑scale events
- Proven track record implementing and scaling finance systems and ERPs
- Experience with international operations, multi‑currency environments, and FX management
- Deep knowledge of IFRS, global tax issues, internal controls, and compliance
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence non‑financial stakeholders
- High integrity with impeccable ethical standards
