Statutory Accountant in London)

We have a great opportunity for an experienced, hands-on Statutory Accountant to join a growing and fast-paced Energy company based in Central London. This is an immediate start for an experienced Finance professional to work on a short-time interim basis, for approximately 3 months. A competitive day rate is on offer and travel to their offices in London Bridge is a must.

Responsibilities:

1. Technically strong accountant with up-to-date knowledge of auditing and statutory reporting (including consolidations), VAT, and tax.
2. Provide clear, accurate, and timely financial reporting, ensuring external financial reporting compliance.
3. Produce accurate financial accounts in accordance with current regulatory and professional standards (IFRS / FRS 101).
4. Strong management accounting background; assist with month-end and business-as-usual processes including journal posting and accounts reconciliation.
5. Proficient in the use of Oracle NetSuite and Microsoft Office products (Excel and Word).
6. Become a key contact for coordinating audit deliverables.
7. Ensure that accounting implications of key contracts are understood and the impact of changes to accounting standards.
8. Build close working relationships with the Finance team, external advisors, and intercompany partners.
9. Work across the organisation\’s structure, providing support to those that need it and obtaining information when it is required.
10. Strive for continuous process improvements.

Requirements:

1. Qualified Accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA) with a minimum of 3 years\’ experience in industry.
2. Relevant and recent working knowledge of Oracle NetSuite is a must.
3. Experience working with audits and providing support for auditors.
4. Tax compliance experience (track record processing VAT, PAYE, and CIS preferred).
5. Excellent eye for detail and accuracy.
6. A confident self-starter who can add value immediately.
