Marc Daniels are working with a medium-sized company operating in a niche sector based in Central London to look for a Qualified Management Accountant to join their dynamic finance team. This will require the right candidate to go into their state‑of‑the‑art offices 2 days a week.

Key responsibilities:

  • Produce monthly management accounts, including variance analysis versus budget, forecast and prior year, with clear commentary on revenue, margin and overhead performance.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and bank reconciliations, ensuring strong control over working capital and cash.
  • Support preparation of short- and medium‑term cashflow forecasts.
  • Quarterly VAT returns and liaising with external advisors where required.
  • Prepare and maintain reporting on foreign exchange positions and open forward contracts in a multi‑currency environment.
  • Assist with preparation of annual budgets and periodic re‑forecasts, including supporting schedules for presentation to senior management.
  • Support external audit, responding to audit queries and providing high‑quality working papers and analysis.
  • Perform financial due diligence on new and existing customers, maintaining appropriate documentation and ongoing monitoring.
  • Prepare capex evaluation models and post‑investment appraisals, and report regularly on project spend versus budget and milestones.

Knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) with proven experience in a management accounting role within a commercial environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail, comfortable working with large data sets and multiple systems.
  • Experience of foreign currency transactions and translations in an international business.
  • Proven business partnering skills, able to build strong relationships and explain financial information to non‑finance stakeholders.
  • Highly organised, able to plan and prioritise workload and work with minimal supervision in a fast‑paced setting.
