A fast-growing manufacturing business is looking for a Financial Controller. This is a key role in a highly successful and continuously expanding business based in London. This person will run a dynamic team of finance professionals taking responsibility for financial controls, reporting, and partnering with the business. This is a fantastic time to join a business in an exciting new growth phase which will include diversification and business acquisitions.
Duties:
- Take the lead in initiating change in processes and systems implementation.
- Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing and coordinate and assign duties to the accounting teams as needed.
- Prepare variance analysis on both the Income Statement and Balance Sheet.
- Evaluate departmental performance and make adjustments to daily operations when needed to ensure the department meets overall goals and objectives.
- Maintain the general ledger, ensuring accurate and reliable information.
- Ensure the financial processes are robust, with appropriate controls and reconciliations.
- Manage and ensure timely closure of both internal and external audits.
- Propose solutions to streamline current processes/activities.
- Oversee and support the preparation and review of account reconciliations.
- Review and approve Journal Entries.
- Partner with the Business to accomplish key objectives and KPIs.
- Ensure statutory filings and audits are completed timely.
- Complete all tax returns, including but not limited to corporation tax, VAT returns, and transfer pricing, working closely with external tax advisors and the tax department.
Experience/Key attributes:
- Proven experience in driving change and process improvements.
- Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
- Experience within a finance function, operating in a financial controller role.
- Ideally have experience within manufacturing or FMCG industries.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong influencing skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, commitment to accuracy, and quality.
