Marble Talent Group are seeking an experienced Static Engineer with a strong HVAC and Mechanical bias to support the on-site delivery of engineering services within a live hospital environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the planned preventative and reactive maintenance of mechanical and HVAC building services systems, ensuring full compliance with healthcare standards while maintaining a safe and operational environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This is a permanent static role based at the John Radcliffe Hospital, with no mobile travel required, supporting critical healthcare infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
    • Carry out PPM tasks in line with contract schedules, HTM guidance, and SFG20 standards.
    • Perform maintenance on HVAC and mechanical systems including:
      • Air Handling Units (AHUs)
      • Fan Coil Units (FCUs)
      • Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning systems
      • Chilled water systems
      • Pumps, motors, valves, and pressurisation units
      • Expansion vessels and associated plant
      • Heat exchangers and calorifiers
    • Basic BMS operation and interrogation.
    • Provide associated building services support, including:
      • Basic electrical fault finding relating to mechanical plant
      • Control panels and field devices
    • Ensure all statutory compliance checks are completed accurately and recorded correctly.
  • Reactive Maintenance
    • Respond promptly to mechanical and HVAC breakdowns and faults.
    • Diagnose and repair faults efficiently while minimising disruption to hospital operations.
    • Prioritise reactive works in line with site criticality levels.
    • Support critical ventilation and mechanical systems within clinical environments.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Essential
    • City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, Building Services, or equivalent.
    • Proven experience in HVAC and mechanical building services maintenance.
    • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability across HVAC systems.
    • Experience working within critical environments such as hospitals, healthcare facilities, data centres, or similar.
  • Desirable
    • Experience working with BMS systems.
    • Knowledge of HTM guidance.
    • F-Gas certification.
