Job Purpose:
Marble Talent Group are actively seeking a Mechanical Contracts Manager who will oversee and manage mechanical engineering projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This role involves managing the full lifecycle of mechanical services contracts from initial tender stage through to completion, including liaising with clients, subcontractors, and project teams to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of mechanical systems within commercial, industrial, and residential buildings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contract Management: Oversee the delivery of mechanical services contracts, including HVAC, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and other mechanical systems for building services projects.
- Project Planning: Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and cost estimates. Ensure the project scope is defined, and resources are allocated effectively.
- Cost Control: Monitor project budgets and ensure cost-effective delivery. Identify and address cost overruns and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Client Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their needs and concerns, and ensuring that client specifications are met throughout the project lifecycle.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure that all work adheres to relevant health and safety regulations, site-specific risk assessments, and method statements.
- Contract Documentation: Maintain up-to-date and accurate records, including project plans, schedules, financial reports, contracts, and correspondence.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor quality assurance procedures and ensure that all installations meet regulatory standards and client expectations.
- Risk Management: Identify potential project risks, develop mitigation plans, and ensure all stakeholders are kept informed.
- Progress Reporting: Regularly report on project progress, budgets, and any issues to senior management, and escalate concerns as needed.
- Business Development: Assist in tendering and estimating for new mechanical contracts and contribute to business growth by identifying new opportunities and building client relationships.
Skills and Qualifications:
Essential:
- Education: Relevant degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or related field.
- Experience: Experience in mechanical project management within the building services industry.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, heating, etc.) and their application in building services.
- Project Management: Experience in managing multiple contracts, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and budget.
- Leadership: Ability to lead and motivate project teams, managing subcontractors and internal staff effectively.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise with clients, contractors, and team members at all levels.
- Health and Safety Knowledge: Thorough understanding of health and safety requirements, particularly in the construction and building services sectors.
- IT Skills: Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
