Job Description

Our client, a growing and independent fire protection company, is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join their Fire Division. This role is a fantastic opportunity to lead the growth of fire alarm system sales across the Midlands by delivering tailored fire safety solutions to both new and existing clients. You’ll work closely with project and engineering teams to ensure smooth delivery and outstanding service.\\n\\nKey Responsibilities\\n\\n * Identify and secure new business opportunities in the fire alarm systems sector.\\n\\n * Promote a full range of fire detection and alarm solutions to commercial, industrial, and residential clients.\\n\\n * Build a healthy pipeline through networking, cold outreach, client meetings, site surveys, and industry events.\\n\\n * Keep informed on fire safety legislation, standards (BS 5839), and market trends.\\n\\n * Achieve and exceed sales targets on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.\\n\\n * Prepare and present bespoke proposals based on client requirements.\\n\\n * Negotiate pricing and contract terms to win profitable business.\\n\\n * Work with internal teams to ensure accurate specification and seamless project handover.\\n\\n * Develop strong, long-term relationships with customers built on trust and reliability.\\n\\n * Provide account management support and maintain regular communication.\\n\\n * Resolve issues swiftly and professionally to ensure satisfaction and retention.\\n\\n * Solid understanding of fire alarm systems, components, and compliance requirement.\\n\\n * Confident in advising clients on system design and product selection to meet regulatory and operational needs.\\n\\n * Maintain detailed records of all sales activities, client interactions, proposals, and contracts using CRM software\\n\\nWhat We’re Looking For\\n\\n * 3–5 years of proven B2B field sales experience, preferably within the fire alarm or fire safety sector\\n\\n * Strong candidates from similar technical or compliance-driven industries will be considered\\n\\n * Excellent sales, negotiation, and relationship-building skills\\n\\n * Strong communication with both technical and non-technical audiences\\n\\n * Self-motivated and results-driven\\n\\n * Organised and able to manage multiple projects and clients\\n\\n * Proficient in CRM systems and Microsoft Office\\n\\n * Field-based role with some travel to the Derby head office\\n\\n * Flexibility required to meet client demands and schedules\\n\\nWhat’s on Offer\\n\\n * £40,000 – £45,000 base salary\\n\\n * Attractive commission package + OTE £75k+\\n\\n * Company car\\n\\n * Laptop\\n\\n * Company pension\\n\\n * Career progression opportunities within a growing business\\n\\nAbout Marble Talent\\n\\nAs engineering recruitment specialists, we pride ourselves on the ability to turn aspiring candidates at the beginning, middle or towards the end of their engineering careers into successful, professional engineers place at the right companies.
