Are you an experienced Gate Automation Engineer looking for a new opportunity with a company that genuinely values work-life balance? We're looking for a skilled and motivated engineer to join our growing team, covering the Midlands region. This is primarily a home-based field role, with weekly visits to our Leicester headquarters to replenish stock and collect equipment.
The Role
You'll be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance, fault finding, safety upgrades and retrofitting of a wide range of gate automation systems. You'll work independently on service calls as well as alongside colleagues on larger installation projects, where some groundworks may be required. This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same.
Key Responsibilities
- Install new gate automation systems.
- Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults.
- Complete safety upgrades and retrofit existing systems.
- Work as part of a two-person installation team where required.
- Complete accurate job reports using a company tablet.
- Deliver excellent customer service while working on residential and commercial sites.
- Work safely and in line with current Health & Safety standards.
About You
Essential
- Previous experience installing and maintaining gate automation systems.
- Experience with fault finding and servicing automated gates.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements relating to gate and door automation.
- Ability to work independently and manage your workload.
Desirable
- Experience with automation systems including CAME, Roger, Beninca and BFT.
- Knowledge of access control, door entry and door automation systems.
- Welding experience.
- Electrical Installation qualification.
Salary & Benefits
- £35,000 - £40,000 per annum (depending on experience)
- Overtime available
- Additional weekday hours paid at standard rate
- Optional Saturday working paid at time and a half
- No out-of-hours call-out rota – we believe in a healthy work-life balance
