We are recruiting for an experienced Business Development Manager to drive continued growth across the UK, Norwegian and wider European energy markets, supporting the Company’s strategic expansion in oil, gas and infrastructure sectors.

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying, developing and securing profitable business opportunities that support long-term growth. The Business Development Manager will work closely with operational, commercial and technical teams, and will develop market intelligence, lead client engagement and convert opportunities into sustainable revenue streams, with a focus on expanding market presence across Europe.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of fabrication opportunities across UK, Norway and wider European markets.
  • Identify and secure new business in line with revenue, margin and capacity targets.
  • Build and maintain relationships with EPC contractors, operators, engineering houses and key supply chain partners.
  • Monitor market activity, including capital projects, maintenance campaigns and asset life extension programmes.
  • Drive business expansion into new European markets and client organisations.
  • Lead customer engagement activities including meetings, presentations, site visits and industry events.
  • Manage opportunities through the full lifecycle from lead generation to contract award.
  • Support tender submissions, pricing strategies and contract negotiations to maximise win rate and profitability.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver competitive, technically compliant proposals.
  • Develop strategic account plans and identify repeat and cross-selling opportunities across wider services.
  • Provide regular sales forecasts, pipeline updates and market intelligence to leadership.
  • Represent the Company at industry events to enhance brand presence.
  • Ensure all activities are delivered in line with company HSEQ and ethical standards.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

In order to be successful in this role candidates must be able to demonstrate the following:

  • A proven track record in business development within oil, gas fabrication or heavy engineering.
  • A strong network across North Sea and European energy markets.
  • Experience in developing new markets and client relationships.
  • Commercial awareness with tendering and negotiation experience.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to undertake regular UK and European travel with periods of time away from home.

Success in the role will be measured by:

  • Growth of a qualified opportunity pipeline.
  • Securing contract awards and revenue growth.
  • Expansion into new European markets.
  • Customer retention and account development.
  • Delivery of sustainable, profitable workload.

This role can be based at either Port of Nigg (IV19) or Aberdeen (AB11), but the expectation is that the Business Development Manager will be in the field securing and retaining customer accounts for a large percentage of the time.
