Mar Hall Hotel, Golf & Spa Resort, a gem nestled in the heart of Scotland, has recently been acquired by Dutco, a prestigious Dubai-based company, with ambitious plans for luxury and innovation. Our extensive refurbishment programme includes expanding and upgrading the property to see it repositioned as one of the best hotels in Scotland and an international destination. Plans include new luxury woodland lodges, revitalised golf, spa & leisure facilities, and a refurbishment of our guestrooms and public spaces.
As we embark on this thrilling new chapter, we are searching for a skilled and dedicated Payroll & HR Administrator to join our team and be a part of this exciting new world. The Payroll & HR Assistant plays a vital dual role in supporting both payroll processing and human resources administration. You will assist with ensuring accurate payroll delivery, while also supporting the wider HR function in delivering a high standard of service across the employee lifecycle. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with payroll experience looking to broaden their exposure to HR.
Key responsibilities:- Collate, input, and process payroll data accurately
- Complete daily payroll checks and identify and follow up on any inconsistencies
- Maintain and update employee records in the HR and payroll systems.
- Respond to employee payroll-related and general HR queries
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including pension contributions and HMRC submissions.
- Process starters, leavers, and employee changes including salary amendments and contract variations.
- Generate and interpret payroll reports, sharing insights and actions with the Resort Director.
- Support absence tracking, generating reports as required for managers and ensuring absences are logged correctly on the system
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes
- Assist with HR correspondence, note-taking during meetings, and supporting employee relations processes.
- Provide general administrative support to the People Operations Manager
- Previous experience in end to end payroll processing
- Experience in a HR Admin role desired but not essential
- An interest in developing HR experience, with a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy when handling sensitive data.
- Strong initiative and ability to manage workload independently.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the confidence to coach and challenge managers constructively.
- Strong IT skills including Excel and familiarity with payroll and HR systems (Experience using fourth would be an advantage)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
