We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Breakfast Supervisor to lead and deliver an exceptional breakfast experience at JA Mar Hall. As part of our journey towards Forbes luxury standards, this role is pivotal in setting the tone for the guest day ensuring every breakfast service is warm, polished, and flawlessly executed.

The purpose of The Breakfast Supervisor is to support the Breakfast Manager in delivering exceptional breakfast service, ensuring high standards of guest experience, food presentation, cleanliness, and operational efficiency. The Breakfast Supervisor will lead the breakfast team on shift, provide coaching and guidance, and ensure all hotel and food safety standards are consistently maintained.

Key Responsibilities of Breakfast Supervisor:

  • Operational Excellence
    • Supervise daily breakfast operations to ensure smooth and efficient service.
    • Ensure all breakfast areas are prepared and presented to the required standards before service begins.
    • Monitor food and beverage displays, replenishment, and presentation throughout service.
    • Conduct regular quality checks to ensure guest satisfaction and compliance with brand standards.
    • Address guest requests, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally, escalating where appropriate.
  • Team Leadership
    • Lead the breakfast team during service, allocating duties and ensuring effective shift coverage.
    • Assist with the induction, training, and ongoing development of team members.
    • Provide day-to-day coaching and support to colleagues to maintain high service standards.
    • Foster a positive working environment that promotes teamwork, engagement, and accountability.
    • Assist the Breakfast Manager in monitoring team performance and conducting performance discussions as required.
  • Guest Experience
    • Actively engage with guests to create a welcoming and memorable dining experience.
    • Ensure guest feedback is collected and shared with the Breakfast Manager to drive continuous improvement.
    • Handle guest concerns professionally and seek effective resolutions at the earliest opportunity.
  • Compliance and Safety
    • Ensure compliance with all food hygiene, health and safety, fire safety, and licensing regulations.
    • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation throughout all breakfast service areas.
    • Support food safety procedures, including temperature checks, food storage, allergen management, and record keeping.
    • Report maintenance issues and safety concerns promptly.
  • Financial and Commercial Responsibilities
    • Support the Breakfast Manager and Food & Beverage Services Manager in controlling labour and operational costs.
    • Assist in minimising wastage and monitoring stock levels.
    • Ensure equipment and supplies are used efficiently and responsibly.
    • Support revenue opportunities through effective promotion of food and beverage offerings where appropriate.
  • Administration
    • Complete daily operational records and checklists accurately.
    • Assist with stock ordering, inventory control, and stock rotation procedures.
    • Communicate effectively with the kitchen, front office, and wider hotel teams to ensure seamless service delivery.

About You

Essential Experience Required:

  • Some previous experience in a food and beverage supervisory or senior team member role.
  • Strong understanding of restaurant or breakfast service operations.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of food hygiene and health and safety requirements.
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including early mornings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Ability to start early every morning - Your shifts will be 6am - 2.30pm most often, and sometimes 8am-4.30pm. Weekend working will be required.

Desirable

  • Experience within a hotel environment.
  • Food Safety certification.
  • Experience using hotel or restaurant POS systems.
  • First Aid qualification.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Forbes Travel Guide Luxury Standards.
