Content Creator / Videographer
Mapperton is one of England\'s best-loved historic houses, gardens and estates, located in West Dorset in the heart of Hardy country (DT8 3NR). Luke and Julie Montagu, Earl and Countess of Sandwich, oversee traditional estate activities alongside innovative digital ventures including Mapperton Live ), supported by a growing Patreon community.
We\'re looking for a talented, energetic Content Creator / Videographer to help create the next chapter of entertaining & compelling content for our channels, and to distribute short form assets across our social platforms, with the objective of driving up views, subscribers and associated revenue.
The role
Working closely with Luke and Julie, you will film and edit at least one long-form episode per week, plus create and post supporting media assets for other channels (primarily YouTube, Instagram and TikTok). You will also edit episodes for other related YouTube channels from time to time.
The ideal candidate lives close to Mapperton and should expect to film on site for one to two days per week. We have a fully equipped edit suite and all necessary filmmaking equipment.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and shoot episodes on location (DSLR/mirrorless, GoPro and DJI), including sound recording and media management
- Edit weekly long-form episodes end-to-end (picture, sound, colour and basic graphics)
- Create short-form cut-downs and social assets from long-form footage
- Support packaging and publishing: titles, descriptions, scheduling, thumbnails and copyright clearance
- Social media photography from time to time
- Maintain a tidy, reliable technical workflow for file management, backups and archiving
- Work collaboratively with Luke, Julie and the wider team to deliver consistently and to a high standard
Skills & experience
Essential
- Strong editing experience in Final Cut Pro and/or Adobe Premiere Pro, including sound, colour and basic graphics
- Confident camera operation, sound recording and data management
- Experience working to fast turnarounds, without compromising quality
- Excellent visual storytelling instincts and attention to detail
- Strong knowledge of YouTube and social platforms (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok)
- Organised, proactive, practical problem-solver
Desirable
- After Effects / Photoshop / Illustrator (or similar)
- Drone piloting experience and qualification (highly desirable, training can be provided)
- Interest in historic houses, rural life and the natural environment
Terms
- Salary: £30,000–£35,000, depending on experience
- Full-time (c. 40 hours per week)
