Role Summary / Purpose and Scope
You will provide high level legal and operational support to Legal Counsel for the benefit of the whole company. Your work includes the review, drafting and negotiation of commercial agreements, support on litigious matters and providing general administrative help for the legal team. You will have a very good knowledge of contract law, good communications skills and excellent attention to detail.
Skills, Knowledge and Values
- Providing assistance with the review, drafting and negotiation of a range of commercial agreements including property management agreements, non-disclosure agreements, supplier agreements and duties of care.
- Excellent working knowledge of contractual issues such as intellectual property, confidentiality, liabilities, indemnities and TUPE.
- Coordinating workflow with internal stakeholders.
- Contributing to template development.
- Identifying process inefficiencies and proposing improvements.
- Preparing first-draft advice notes and/or issuing summaries for Legal Counsel review.
- Monitoring and managing the Legal Inbox and ensuring that Legal Counsel is kept apprised of all new matters sent to the Legal Inbox, and that all deadlines are diarised for the Legal Team with reminders.
- Running closing processes, preparing completion documents, and chasing outstanding actions.
- Managing pre-litigation processes and assisting in the handling of claims, disputes and court proceedings.
- Maintaining document management systems and databases and ensuring that such systems are accurate, up to date and audit ready.
- Assisting with the delivery of targeted internal training sessions.
- Monitoring changes to government guidelines or regulations and submitting reports on pertinent changes.
- General administrative duties in order to support the Legal Team and if required, the wider MAPP business.
- Monitoring statutory and internal compliance, including meeting MAPP policies and procedures, RICS and ISO standards and any statutory timelines and escalation requirements.

Experience and Salary
- Undergraduate law degree and LPC or SQE1 essential.
- 2 years minimum paralegal experience (in-house preferred) essential.
- Working Hours: 9am - 5.30pm Monday - Thursday & 9am - 5pm Friday.
- Salary Range (Based on Experience): £40,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience.
