About the Role
The Senior Business Development Manager will be based in London and will serve as a trusted practice group advisor across offices in the region. This role will have an important role to play in contributing to the development and execution of practice group strategy and will be key in providing strategic and operational support to the business development function, supporting the future growth and success of the business.
Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Strategic planning and profile raising
- Support LPGLs and local BD colleagues in developing strategic, forward-looking BD plans
- Co-develop with the Regional Head of Business Development incisive initiatives that drive revenue and profit
- Work with the local BD team to help translate practice group goals into specific and coordinated activity
- Develop best practice and policies for business development activity
- Identify, evaluate and oversee strategic sponsorships and speaking opportunities at conferences and seminars
- Proactively working with partners to target and develop clients
- Oversee and provide strategic input on priority pitches and proposals
- Developing and overseeing client relationship management initiatives
- Participate in relevant internal BD meetings
- Work with the events team and relevant BD colleagues to ensure events are aligned with BD priorities
- Provide oversight of CRM data quality and usage for priority clients
- Leading on the identification and pursuit of opportunities to develop new and existing clients
- Support on ad hoc strategic projects outside of the day-to-day responsibilities
Management and coordination
- Provide day-to-day coordination and oversight across the London BD team
- Promote alignment and coordination across global and regional BD teams
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with key stakeholders
- Support the business development and marketing leadership team in firm wide activities
- Proactively challenge and support partners to focus on high-value BD activity
- Keep abreast of developments by listening to the markets
What You Bring
- Law firm experience, as well as a professional qualification in Marketing, Business or a related field is preferred
- Over eight years' experience in a business development and/or mixed marketing/BD role
- Demonstrated experience of managing senior stakeholders
- Decision making and problem solving skills
- Prior experience managing high performing teams
- Experience with InterAction or similar CRM systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
