About the Role
The Business Development Manager will act as a trusted advisor for the EMEA practice group (excluding Dublin), contributing to strategic planning and supporting business development efforts to foster growth. Main responsibilities include:
- Strategic Planning
- Develop business strategies, plans, and budgets with key stakeholders
- Translate practice group goals into actionable activities with partners and marketing teams
- Review and reconcile business development plans and budgets, ensuring regional and global alignment
- Create best practices and policies for business development
- Track, report, and demonstrate ROI on activities
- Collaborate with marketing to develop content for campaigns and collateral
- Identify and oversee sponsorships and speaking opportunities
- Coordinate legal directory submissions and partner interview preparations
- Business Development & Client Relationship Management
- Support business trips, ensuring objectives are clear and follow-up is completed
- Work with partners to target and develop clients, conducting research and analysis
- Prepare pitches and credential documents for new business
- Manage client and intermediary relationships
- Monitor feedback and business development leads
- Participate in internal meetings, providing research and targeting support
- Encourage lawyer involvement in marketing activities
- Support event planning and execution
- Manage CRM data and client lists
- Identify opportunities for client development and cross-selling
- Analyze market and competitor developments for new opportunities
- Assist with strategic projects outside daily duties
- Management and Coordination
- Contribute to the development of the London business development team

Experience
Ideal candidates will have:
- Law firm experience and a relevant qualification in Marketing, Business, or related fields
- Over 8 years of experience in business development or marketing within professional services, with industry knowledge
- Experience managing senior stakeholders
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and project management skills
- Experience managing high-performing teams
- CRM system experience, e.g., InterAction
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong organizational and administrative abilities
- A proactive, hands-on approach
