About Mapleleaf Group

Mapleleaf Group is a dynamic group of businesses operating across the fuel, retail, and automotive sectors.

  • Mapleleaf Petroleum: Delivering reliable, high-volume wholesale fuel solutions.
  • Mapleleaf Express: Creating modern, convenient, and customer-centric retail experiences.
  • Mapleleaf Automotive: Providing trusted vehicle sales, maintenance, and servicing.

Our businesses are united by a shared commitment to quality, reliability, and exceptional customer service. As we scale, we remain dedicated to investing in our people and building a workplace where talent thrives.

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and strategic HR Manager to lead our internal HR department and champion our organisational culture. Managing a dedicated HR team, you will oversee the full employee lifecycle—from talent acquisition and onboarding to employee relations and UK payroll management.

This is a pivotal, multifaceted role that seamlessly combines high-level strategic partnership with senior management and hands‑on operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute modern HR strategies aligned with our business growth plans; act as a trusted advisor and provide strategic support to senior leadership.
  • Team & Culture Management: Supervise, mentor, and inspire the internal HR team. Lead employee engagement initiatives and champion staff wellbeing programs across all business units.
  • Systems & Data: Maintain and optimise our HRIS/ATS databases (Workday, Taleo, PeopleSoft). Conduct regular process audits and analyse HR metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Compliance & Payroll: Oversee complex employee relations (ER) cases, ensure strict adherence to UK employment law, and accurately manage UK payroll processes (including pensions and statutory payments).

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of proven HR management experience, ideally within a corporate or multi-site environment.
  • Qualifications: CIPD Level 7 qualification is essential for this role.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with enterprise-level HRIS platforms and a robust, up‑to‑date working knowledge of UK payroll legislation.
  • Attributes: An approachable, highly confidential, and exceptionally organised leader with outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Competitive Salary tailored to your experience.
  • Defined Pathways for genuine career progression as the group expands.
  • A supportive, collaborative, and highly professional working environment.
  • True Autonomy to implement your ideas and make a lasting impact on our business culture.

If you are a CIPD Level 7 professional looking for a role where you can truly make your mark and grow alongside a thriving business, we would love to hear from you.
