Catastrophe and Risk Solutions at Verisk (formerly AIR Worldwide) is looking for a highly passionate, motivated individual to join the Consulting and Client Services Group. As a senior member of Verisk’s consulting and client services team based in London, you will provide services to our London and international insurance and reinsurance clients. Use your technical, analytical, and project management skills to work with clients to enhance their usage of the Verisk suite of solutions and help troubleshoot any software-related issues. You will work closely across the software development and product teams and may participate in research/model development projects. Proficiency in oral and written communication is essential, particularly the ability to communicate complex ideas simply and effectively. Prior experience in catastrophe risk modelling is essential, ideally using Verisk’s suite of catastrophe models.
Responsibilities
- Provide day to day client support helping clients use Verisk’s software platforms and understand Verisk’s catastrophe models and their output.
- Provide training sessions to clients to help them understand and use Verisk software and models.
- Perform sophisticated risk analyses using Verisk's cutting-edge technology for insurers, brokers, and other financial intermediaries in the internationally expanding business of catastrophe risk management including both natural catastrophe risk.
- Provide client migration support in the roll out of our new platform Verisk Synergy Studio.
- Add value to modelled results through customisation of output tailored to the needs of clients.
- Be responsible, as the account manager, for allocated client’s overall Verisk support.
- Lead internal and client facing projects, responsible for scoping of projects, managing timelines and ensuring the accuracy and deadlines of deliverables are met.
- Communicate directly with clients to develop project timelines and manage deliverable expectations.
- Help clients reliably assess and manage their catastrophe loss potential through interpretation of modelling results.
- Perform portfolio management studies for determining growth strategies, developing scoring templates and risk metrics.
- Line management of internal teams of Risk Consultants.
- Recommend new approaches to risk management for Verisk and our clients.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, a solid understanding of probability concepts, excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to client services.
- Knowledge of Touchstone and /or Touchstone Re or other vendor model software is essential.
- 4+ years of modelling experience, ideally in the London Market.
- Excellent communication, time management and organisational skills are also required.
- Experience using Microsoft Office is essential and knowledge and understanding of the insurance/ reinsurance markets is preferred.
- Ability to code in languages such as SQL, R, Python will be beneficial.
- Knowledge of ArcGIS would be desirable.
Education: A degree in science, engineering or mathematics is preferable.
