If you are an enthusiastic self-starter with a passion for selling and enjoy working with customers, then we want you to be part of our team as an Automotive Sales Consultant. The ideal candidate has a positive attitude, a confident and outgoing personality, a professional appearance, excellent communication skills, and the ability to deliver world-class customer service. 1-2 years of experience is preferred but not required. He or she must be self-motivated and willing to continuously prospect to sell a minimum quota (or more!) on an ongoing basis.

Responsibilities

  • Helps customers with vehicle selection and promote model options and features, value-added products and services, and purchase and finance options following dealership policies.
  • Conducts vehicle test drives and ensures all speed limits and all other rules of the road are followed.
  • Negotiates sale closure in a clear, concise, and highly ethical fashion.
  • Helps facilitate delivery by providing a clear explanation of vehicle and features operation, warranty, and servicing requirements.
  • Maintains accurate sales documentation.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all vehicles, accessories, financing options, and promotions.
  • Attends all staff meetings, training, and educational classes as required.
  • Helps educate/train new staff members.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous 1-2 years of Automotive sales experience.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with customers, co-workers, management, and others.
  • Must be able to combine customer service skills with a strong close.
  • Must not have bounced from one sales job to the next.
  • Must be a "people person" but still know how to control the deal.
  • Must have an excellent attendance record and a commitment to being on time.
  • Must have a valid and clean NY state driver's license.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test and a background check.
  • Basic computer and internet skills.
  • A track record of successful sales, high earnings, and a portfolio of previous customers.
  • Must have an energetic and enthusiastic approach to customer interaction.
  • Must have strong computer skills and follow the sales process.
