Job overview

As a full time LSA at Maple Walk, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the children\’s learning and development. The role will include 1:1 support for two specific students and responsibility for planning, preparing and delivering an adapted curriculum working with those children and other pupils in small groups. The role may also involve accompanying the pupils to sports lessons and trips over the course of the year.

REQUIRED

  • Good standard of Education to A Level/Level 3, including GCSE English and Mathematics or equivalent.
  • Experience working with young children in an educational setting.
  • Experience supporting students with varying learning requirements.
  • Ability to form a close working relationship with a child with specific needs on a one to one basis, in a calm and supportive manner, with an interest in the child\’s development.
  • Willingness and ability to take direction from the classroom teacher or head teacher, SENCO and external professionals.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
