ASPHALT LABOURERS

  • Complete physical work including shoveling, raking and sweeping
  • Experience in performing asphalt work with related heavy equipment

Requirements

  • Ability to work out of town if necessary
  • Previous experience in the asphalt paving industry
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions – primarily outdoors
  • Must hold valid driver’s license

BASE AND EXCAVATION LABOURERS

  • Previous experience in the construction industry an asset
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions – primarily outdoors
  • Must hold valid driver’s license
  • Ability to complete physical work including shovelling and sweeping and lifting
  • Operating packer, checking grade, spotting trucks, digging for utilities
  • Ability to work long hours and some weekends based on business needs
  • Punctual, reliable, and hard working

CLASS 3 TANDEM/WATER TRUCK DRIVERS

  • Operate the Tandem and equipment safely
  • Perform maintenance check and pre-trip inspections
  • Ensure proper loading of aggregates and verify the type and weight of materials being hauled
  • Ensure on-time delivery of aggregates and other road construction materials
  • Maintain truck box to remove any and all debris when necessary
  • Perform miscellaneous labour activities throughout the day as necessary

Skills / Qualifications

  • 2 years experience in road construction industry preferred
  • Confident ability to back up loader trailers
  • Class 3 driver’s license and clean abstract
  • Knowledge of construction materials
  • Must be physically fit
  • Good attitude, punctual, ability to work independently as well as with others

EXCAVATOR OPERATOR

  • Machine Operation: Safely and efficiently operate excavators for tasks such as digging parking lots, streets, and ditching.
  • Site Preparation: Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and grade specifications to ensure precise excavation.
  • Maintenance & Inspection: Perform daily pre-operational checks and routine maintenance including lubrication and cleaning.
  • Safety & Compliance: Follow all company and provincial safety regulations; identify and mitigate hazards such as underground utilities. Perform daily site inspections prior to each shift.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with site supervisors and ground crew to maintain efficient workflow. Demonstrate strong problem‑solving skills, sound decision‑making, and the ability to work independently.

What You Bring

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience operating excavators or similar heavy equipment in construction. Experience with graders or dozers is an asset.
  • Technical Skills: Experience using GPS/Trimble systems is preferred.
  • Licensing: Valid Class 5 driver’s license required; Class 1 or 3 is an asset.

FLAGGERS (BASE AND HIGHWAY DIVISIONS)

  • Safely direct and control traffic at construction sites
  • Maintain a safe work environment by monitoring traffic flow and alerting crews to potential hazards
  • Set up, maintain, and remove traffic control devices (cones, barrels, signage)
  • Communicate effectively with team members using two‑way radios
  • Respond professionally to public inquiries
  • Assist with general labour duties as required

Requirements

GRADER FINISHER OPERATOR

  • Operate a grader to achieve fine grade tolerances
  • Spread and move sand, soil, and aggregate materials to specified grades
  • Adjust the blade’s angle and height to meet survey stakes and specifications
  • Conduct pre‑operational inspections; clean and perform basic equipment maintenance; report repair requirements
  • Safely operate equipment on public roadways while maintaining awareness of surroundings and utilities
  • Interpret grade stakes, site plans, and roadway drawings
  • Move construction materials, earth, and other heavy materials on‑site
  • Maintain a strong understanding of ground‑disturbance practices
  • Follow and enforce all safety standards and procedures
  • Operate additional heavy equipment and perform general labour duties as required

Skills / Qualifications

  • Minimum 2–3 years of grader operating experience
  • Knowledge of grade control systems (GPS preferred)
  • Ability to multitask effectively in a fast‑paced environment
  • Physically capable of lifting to 50 lbs on a regular basis
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license (clean abstract preferred)
  • Willingness to travel and work out of town
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work full‑time hours, including overtime and occasional weekends

HEAVY DUTY EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN

  • Diagnosing and repairing diesel and/or other internal combustion engines, transmissions and/or hydraulic equipment, all related electrical and auxiliary equipment
  • Develop a working knowledge of the technical and administrative procedures necessary to perform the duties of a journeyperson heavy‑duty equipment technician
  • Lubricate, service, diagnose, repair, assemble and maintain equipment and perform other routine maintenance work
  • Ensure repairs and maintenance follow manufacturer specifications and safety regulations
  • Complete work orders upon completion of each job
  • Diagnostics with a computer
  • Training and directing apprentices may be required

Experience Includes

  • High School or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum level 3 up to journeyperson

Requirements

  • Complete set of mechanic’s hand tools on first day of employment
  • Physically capable of routine manual labour, including heavy lifting up to 100 lbs, maneuvering around large equipment, exposure to extreme weather conditions, diesel exhaust fumes and chemical agents used in the mechanical field
  • Strong computer skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to problem‑solve
  • Follow the safety program including all policies, procedures and practices
  • Valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Ability to work extended hours (up to 16 hours per shift during peak season including weekends) and be on‑call as required
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimum supervision

LOADER OPERATOR

  • Level, grade, and install backfill
  • Operate track loaders and rubber tire loaders safely and efficiently
  • Fuel and perform basic maintenance on equipment as required
  • Communicate effectively with the foreman and crew
  • Follow all safety regulations and company policies
  • Assist the crew with general labour as needed

  • Set up and operate grade lasers and read grade stakes
  • Use a variety of hand tools and cut pipe of various materials
  • Install and work with sewer and water systems (watermain, sanitary, and storm)
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of pipelaying techniques and best practices
  • Work with pipe and fittings used in sewer and water main construction
  • Collaborate effectively with crew members and follow direction from the foreman
  • Safely locate and expose underground utilities by hand
  • Complete work efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Maintain a strong commitment to workplace safety

What You Bring

  • Minimum 2 years of related experience in sewer, water, or excavation work
  • Proven ability to install fire hydrants, valves, water services, manholes, catch basins, and piping
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Health & safety training (Confined Space, Trenching & Excavation, First Aid/CPR) is an asset
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Willingness to work weekends as required
  • Ability to work long hours (approximately 12‑hour days)
  • Comfortable working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions

TRAFFIC COORDINATOR – HIGHWAY DIVISION (SEASONAL)

  • Collaborate with the Crew Supervisor and provide direction to employees
  • Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and company policies
  • Maintain and update a daily work journal
  • Set up traffic control zones according to project specifications
  • Install, maintain, and remove signage and traffic control devices

What You Bring

  • Previous traffic coordination experience is preferred
  • Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with sound decision‑making ability
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

  • Inspection, diagnosis, maintenance and repair of diesel and/or other internal combustion engines, transmissions, drivetrain, ABS, suspension, general air brake repairs and/or hydraulic equipment, all related electrical and auxiliary equipment, etc.
  • Manitoba Government Safety Inspections (if qualified) and/or repairs
  • Develop a working knowledge of the technical and administrative procedures necessary to perform the duties of a Red Seal truck and transport mechanic
  • Computer diagnostics
  • Training and directing apprentices (if experienced or qualified journeyman)
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience Includes

  • High School or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum level 2 apprentice up to journeyman or relative experience considered
  • Comfortable with using computers
  • Previous welding experience an asset
  • MGSI certification considered an asset

Requirements

  • Must have a complete set of mechanic’s hand tools on first day of employment
  • Valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s License (Class 3 or 1 License with Air Brake an asset)
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing

WELDER

  • Repair and replace wear components on construction and aggregate equipment
  • Perform welding repairs on trucks and trailers
  • Fabricate parts for repairs and light manufacturing
  • Operate oxy‑acetylene and plasma cutting equipment
  • Weld various materials, including stainless steel, mild steel, cast metals, and aluminum
  • Processes include FCAW, GMAW, SMAW, GTAW, and air carbon arc gouging

What You Bring

  • Experience in welding and fabrication
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence
  • Ability to work independently and on a team
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and extended hours
  • Willingness to travel and stay out of town when required
  • Physical capability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting to 23 kg (50 lbs)
  • Comfort working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
