What you’ll be doing as a Construction & Horticulture Teacher:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging vocational and outdoor learning
  • Support strong pupil progress through inclusive teaching
  • Lead Forest School (Y3–Y11) and Outdoor Learning provision
  • Manage Duke of Edinburgh Award programme
  • Plan, assess, and deliver accredited vocational courses
  • Organise practical learning, trips, and expeditions
  • Maintain safe, effective learning environments
  • Manage resources, facilities, and subject development
  • Monitor teaching quality and pupil outcomes
  • Support pupil wellbeing as a form tutor
  • Collaborate with staff and contribute to school improvement
  • Uphold school values, policies, and safeguarding responsibilities

What we’re looking for:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification/experience
  • A relevant qualification or demonstrable experience in Construction, Horticulture, or a related vocational field
  • Commitment to working towards Open Awards delivery qualifications (if not already held – training available)
  • Willingness to undertake Forest School Leader training (if not already qualified)
  • Forest School Level 3 qualification (desirable)
  • Assessor/Internal Verifier qualifications (e.g. TAQA, A1 or equivalent) (desirable)
  • Outdoor education or Duke of Edinburgh training/qualification (desirable)
  • First Aid qualification (particularly outdoor/paediatric) (desirable)
