We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Pastoral Mentor to join our team on a fixed‑term basis to cover maternity leave. This is a fantastic opportunity to support children and young people as part of a dynamic and supportive school community.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Support individuals, small groups, or whole classes to access learning, make progress, and achieve their potential.
  • Work with the class teacher to understand learning objectives and contribute to planning learning activities or programmes under supervision.
  • Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress, adapting support to meet varying needs.
  • Provide targeted support for behaviour, wellbeing, and personal development, including mentoring or structured support programmes.
  • Promote high standards of behaviour and engagement in line with school policies and procedures.
  • Safeguard pupils by following school procedures, working with safeguarding leads, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to risk assessments.
  • Assist with preparation and administrative tasks such as creating resources, displays, and supporting lesson organisation.
  • Support pupil welfare and wellbeing, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

  • GCSE or equivalent qualifications, including English and Maths.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working with children and young people with SEND in an educational setting.
