Our client is a well-established, privately owned building contractor with a long-standing reputation for delivering high-quality construction, refurbishment and new build projects. Operating across sectors including healthcare, education, commercial, industrial and retail, the business undertakes projects ranging from small works to multi-million-pound contracts.
With a strong emphasis on quality, integrity and long-term client relationships, the company combines skilled in-house trades with trusted subcontract partners to consistently deliver successful outcomes. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join their senior delivery team.
The Role
As Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for the commercial and contractual management of multiple construction projects from pre-contract through to final account. You will work closely with site teams, quantity surveyors, clients and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered safely, profitably and in line with contractual obligations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and administer construction contracts across a varied portfolio of projects
- Oversee contractual compliance, variations, change control and cost management
- Support project teams to ensure programme, quality and commercial targets are met
- Identify, manage and mitigate contractual and commercial risks
- Provide commercial input into tenders, bids and contract negotiations
- Maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners
- Ensure adherence to company procedures, health & safety standards and legislation
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in the construction industry
- Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial management principles
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience across refurbishment and new build projects is advantageous
