Let’s cut to the chase – if you’re looking for a “job”, this is not for you.
We’re looking for ambitious, bright, talented, people-centric individuals who want to change their lives.
Our purpose is to Create Outcomes That Change Lives, this means we deliver more than is expected at every opportunity – for our Customers, our Consultants and our Colleagues.
What does this mean in reality?
- Our team have “un-hinged” personal investment in our business and each other.
- “Good enough” is just not good enough.
- You’ll get out what you put in, so, we expect a lot to be put in – because we are prepared to give you a lot back.
- You’ll dictate your own reward – do you have a family, want to get married, want to buy a house, retire maybe? You’re earning power at Map Room is linked directly to the value you create for our Customers. Do you see yourself earning five, six or seven figures – whichever it is, so do we.
- You’ll have to think and do, nobody is going to give you anything. Yes we will support and guide, but ultimately you’re responsible for your own performance, we have no hiding places.
- You’ll have to come to the office, our Customers offices and various other places, if you’re looking for a role you can do in your PJ’s at home, this is definitely not for you.
Still think you like the sound of it?
We have multiple roles across our Consulting, Resourcing, Executive Search and Fractional teams for great relationship builders – people who can take what we do, how we do it and why we are different to new Customers, not just to win a new project, but to build lasting relationships that stand up to time, economic cycles and organisational change.
This means:
- You will develop a deep understanding of what we do, why we do it, where we do it and with whom. This won’t be a crib sheet, you will embed yourself into our business, our culture and tap our corporate memory to bring to life all our services and track record for customers.
- You will speak to potential customers – we have no preference on how you will do this other than what we all know, you don’t have a relationship with someone you’ve never met face to face.
- You will NOT be sat on a CRM or LinkedIn all day, running strategies, sequences or pretending that somehow you’re a thought leader. You WILL be identifying businesses and leaders whom you think we can be of help to and be contacting them directly in the best way for them.
- You will build deals and propositions for our customers, you’ll shape them, own them and close them and you’ll take the rewards. You will not need to take 16 people with you, you’ll be confident to do this yourself.
- You won’t be a business improvement expert, or a process engineer or an HR manager or a commercial manager or an A.I thought leader – you’ll be building relationships, it will be your sole purpose and you will do it relentlessly and at pace.
- When you’ve built a relationship, you’ll manage it effectively, you will be interested in your (our) customer and you will work with them to deliver what they need, not what you’ve got to sell.
- You’ll motivate yourself – because if being part of something where you get to lead, shape relationships and reap uncapped rewards is not enough to get you out of bed, this is the wrong place for you.
What experience is required?
- If you have experience in a professional services industry, recruitment, resourcing or similar – great. If not…
- You’ll need to prove that you are and can be successful. Ideally, you are a top performer who feels under-rewarded. Someone who wants more than they currently have on offer.
- Ability to think critically, logically and commercial are a must.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships is a no-brainer.
- Outstanding communication skills – this means you can actually interact with people, not present PowerPoint slides!
If you want to work somewhere different, with people who think differently and act different and you want to be more than just an employee in a job, let us know.
