We are seeking an experienced buyer-side procurement and vendor management specialist for a six-month interim assignment covering marketing, facilities management and consulting services.
You will hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment, taking ownership of live sourcing activity, supplier relationships and contract renewals with minimal supervision. The focus is on delivering commercial value, improving supplier performance and maintaining effective controls. A financial services background is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end sourcing: define requirements, run competitive tenders, evaluate suppliers and negotiate pricing and commercial terms.
- Manage vendors across marketing, facilities management and consulting, holding suppliers accountable for service levels and agreed outcomes.
- Own contract renewals, changes and key dates; coordinate onboarding, transitions and exits with relevant teams.
- Work with Finance, Legal, Risk and Information Security to complete due diligence, manage supplier risks and secure approvals.
- Identify savings and service improvements, analyse spend and report measurable outcomes with Finance validation.
- Maintain clear contract records, resolve supplier issues and provide a structured handover at the end of the assignment.
- Proven buyer-side experience, representing the purchasing organisation, not solely supplier-side sales or account management.
- Hands-on procurement and supplier management experience across marketing, facilities management and consulting services.
- Strong sourcing, negotiation, contract management and supplier performance management skills.
- Ability to get up to speed quickly, prioritise competing demands and deliver independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Confident stakeholder management, sound commercial judgement and a practical understanding of supplier risk and procurement governance.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency with spreadsheets and procurement or contract management systems.
Preferred Background
- Procurement or vendor management experience within financial services or another regulated environment.
- CIPS qualification, progress towards qualification, or equivalent practical experience.
Expected Outcomes
Take early ownership of priority activity; deliver agreed sourcing and renewal milestones; demonstrate commercial and supplier performance improvements; and leave accurate records, clear actions and accountable owners at handover.
