An Event Manager with a broad level of experience is required for a busy and successful event organisation. The Event Manager will be a main point of contact for clients and will help provide a full event management service, attending events in the UK and overseas. The role will involve working for clients within a broad range of sectors. Duties may vary depending on experience.
The right person will have a real passion for the industry and possess strong business and leadership skills. They should either have solid events experience or be a graduate with relevant event qualifications and some experience of organising events. Excellent Marketing, PR, and IT skills are also a must for the role.
The Event Manager will enjoy working in a busy environment with colleagues of all levels and be keen to develop further within the organisation and help the business grow. Responsibilities include:
- Managing in-person and online events
- Dealing with Marketing, PR, Copywriting, Social Media, and Online Marketing
- Booking venues and hotel accommodation
- Coordinating stand designs, contractors, caterers, and equipment
- Handling registrations for a range of events
- Ensuring insurance, legal, health, and safety obligations are met
- Having a good understanding of finance, budgeting, and accounting processes
- Producing plans for venues based on event requirements
- Managing speakers and planning room layouts
- Overseeing junior and temporary support staff
- Using Excel, Word, Outlook, and other systems confidently
- Managing media and printed/digital material
- Liaising with clients and designers to create tickets, posters, event guides, and sales brochures
- Getting involved with workshops
- Assisting with the selling of space to potential exhibitors/partners
- Providing regular reports to keep clients up to date on progress
- Handling a variety of email traffic and drafting correspondence
- Updating the website when necessary
- Dealing with financial transactions and mailing of information
- Assisting with logistics for multiple events
- Managing subcontractors, security, and first aid
- Overseeing the dismantling of events and clearing of venues
