An Event Manager with broad levels of experience is required for a busy and successful event organisation. The Event Manager will be a main point of contact for clients and will help provide a full event management service, attending events in the UK and overseas. The role will involve working for clients within a wide range of sectors.

Duties may vary depending on experience. The right person will have a real passion for the event industry, possess strong business and leadership skills, and have solid events experience, or be a graduate with relevant event qualifications and some practical knowledge of organising events.

The Event Manager will enjoy working in a busy environment with colleagues of all levels and be keen to develop further within the organisation and help the business grow. Responsibilities include managing in-person and online events, having supreme business acumen, and being an enthusiastic team player with excellent time management abilities.

The Event Manager will deal with marketing, PR, copywriting, social media, and online marketing activities, as well as the booking of venues and hotel accommodation. They will coordinate stand designs, contractors, caterers, and equipment, and manage registrations for a range of events.

They will ensure that insurance, legal, health, and safety obligations are met, and have a good understanding of finance, budgeting, and accounting processes. The role includes taking instruction on event requirements, producing plans for venues, managing speakers, planning room layouts, and overseeing junior and temporary support staff.

The Event Manager will be confident using Excel, Word, Outlook, and other systems. They will manage media relations, liaise with clients and designers to create tickets, posters, event guides, and sales brochures, and get involved with workshops while working closely with potential exhibitors/partners.

Regular reports will be provided to keep clients up to date on progress. The Event Manager will handle a variety of email traffic, draft correspondence, deal with financial transactions, and assist with logistics for multiple events. They will manage subcontractors, security, and first aid, and oversee the dismantling of events and clearing of venues.

The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, work well under pressure, enjoy being thoroughly involved with the events, and play an important role in making each event a success. The Event Manager will be confident, outgoing, professional, and well-presented, a true relationship builder and self-starter with leadership qualities and the motivation to work either independently or as part of a team.
