Event Manager – Events, PR and Marketing.
An Event Manager with a broad level of Event, PR, and Marketing experience is urgently required for a busy and successful event organisation.
The Event Manager will be a main point of contact for clients, providing a full event management service and attending events in the UK and overseas.
The right candidate will either have solid events experience or be a graduate with relevant event qualifications and some work experience in organising events.
Strong communication and IT skills are essential for the role. The Event Manager will enjoy working in a busy environment with colleagues of all levels and be keen to develop further within the organisation.
The role will involve managing in-person and online events, demonstrating supreme business acumen, strong Marketing and PR skills, and being an enthusiastic team player with excellent time management abilities.
The Event Manager’s duties may vary depending on experience and will include:
- Dealing with Marketing, PR, Copywriting, Social Media, and Online Marketing.
- Booking venues and hotel accommodations.
- Coordinating stand designs, contractors, caterers, and equipment.
- Managing registrations for a range of events.
- Ensuring insurance, legal, health, and safety obligations are met.
- Producing plans for venues based on event requirements.
- Handling budgeting, managing speakers, and planning room layouts.
- Managing junior and temporary support staff.
- Confidently using Excel, Word, Outlook, and other systems.
- Managing media and printed/digital materials.
- Liaising with clients and designers to create tickets, posters, event guides, and sales brochures.
- Getting involved with workshops and assisting with the selling of space to potential exhibitors/partners.
- Providing regular reports to keep clients up-to-date on progress.
- Handling a variety of email traffic and drafting correspondence.
- Updating the website when necessary.
- Dealing with financial transactions and mailing of information.
- Assisting with logistics for multiple events.
- Managing subcontractors and overseeing security and first aid.
- Overseeing the dismantling of events and clearing of venues.
The Event Manager will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, work well under pressure, enjoy being thoroughly involved with the events, and play an important role in making each event a success. The ideal candidate will be confident, outgoing, professional, well-presented, a true relationship builder, and a self-starter with leadership qualities and the motivation to work independently or as part of a team.
