Overview
As Underwriting Manager at ManyPets, you drive policy wordings, regulatory self-checks, and governance with partner insurers. You’ll steer underwriting queries, develop processes, and embed underwriting philosophy across the business. You’ll balance business objectives with customer-focused outcomes, collaborating with Claims, Operations, Marketing, Compliance and Legal to deliver high-quality insurance offerings. Your work supports profitable growth through underwriting improvements and strong regulatory risk controls. This is a chance to shape pet insurance products in a fast-growing, values-driven company.
Responsibilities
- Draft and review policy wordings and product documentation in plain English
- Develop and deliver underwriting rules within the Earnix system
- Collaborate with trading teams to achieve ongoing targets
- Monitor underwriting footprint and ensure regulatory/commercial alignment across products
- Monitor underwriting performance and support loss ratio objectives
- Contribute to underwriting roadmaps and prioritization
- Improve underwriting processes and procedures
- Liaise with Compliance and Legal to assess regulatory changes and impacts
- Build relationships with external partners and internal stakeholders
- Lead by example and reinforce company values
Key requirements
- Experienced Senior Underwriter or Underwriting Manager with several years in underwriting
- Experience writing and developing personal lines policy wordings, preferably in pet insurance
- Technical management of an insurance portfolio balancing business objectives and customer satisfaction
- Veterinary healthcare experience and understanding of pet insurance products and commercials
- Experience with regulatory responsibilities in a regulated environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to influence across the business
- Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement
